I went to visit a friend who had recently moved from London to Shrewsbury. I had never been before so L took the opportunity to show me around!
After a quick-ish train journey, where I plugged into my book – The Idiot’ by Elif Batuman, I arrived in Shrewsbury.
The day we spent meandering around the town was simply splendid. It was hot, and music from the festival drifted throughout the town.
The beautiful Tudor buildings were irresistible.
The blue skies made the streets look even more colourful – I couldn’t help but smile!
Doesn’t this look like a house from a wonderful storybook?
We even dropped a bit of culture into the day and visited one of the few round churches in the country – the perfect place for me to try a panorama shot!
I spotted my initials in the pavement and had to snap a pic.
We followed our way through Shrewsbury (after a coffee stop) and wound our way down to the river, where the willow trees provided much-needed shade!
Finally, we headed home – can you guess who this chappy is?
Ahh Shrewsbury – I will be back! It was one of the most beautiful towns I have visited, it was full of history, unique independent shops and wonderful architecture. I would definitely recommend a look!
Have a wonderful week,
